CANINE CUTTING CLUB

So…..What is it like to be a dog groomer?  Friend of FLOK Bracken Tighe lets us into a few secrets…..

Hey Guys, I’m Bracken and I love my job which includes looking after some of FLOK HQs fur babies

"We love a good sing along in the salon...It's important to have a fun relaxed environment for our doggie clients!"

I live in Cheshire where I own and run 2 really busy dog grooming salons. We are a busy household with my mum, my dad, my little sister Savanah, my parter Mitchel and our two rescue boxer dogs Buzz and Woody.  There is never a quiet moment and my family have been super supportive of my business dream.

I’m up early for a quick breakfast before I set off for work.  I put on the same playlist every morning in the car which is cheesy hits on spotify because it wakes me up and gets me singing.  We all love a good sing along in the salon so while we prepare for the day the radio is on!  It’s important to have a fun relaxed environment for our doggie clients – it really makes them happy to come and visit us.

We are busy right from the start, we usually see around 12 dogs a day in each salon.  We offer lots of treatment including Mani – pedi’s, facials and our famous mud baths.

I obviously am dog mad, I’m not quite sure what I would be doing if I hadn’t decided to work with them – I love making them look (and smell) their best, we try not to have favourites but its hard when there are so many cuties coming in….all gorgeous in their own way…

The worst part of my job is that I look scruffy 99% of the time. I am always covered in slobber, dog hair and soaked from bathing the dogs so when I finish work I shower as soon as I get home and get straight into my PJs – I wouldn’t change it for the world though…

Make sure to pop in and say ‘Hi’ if you are in the area..
